Notes for Authors to follow on signing up

These notes are for those who have been invited to become an author on this blog. They apply only for people invited to write here. This may take you 2 minutes or it may take you 7 minutes but once you have done this once there is no need to do it again.

Why bother? Well by using this system you will be accessing our social media network marketing campaign.

Everything you post here, from articles, notifications of events, publication of job opportunities, calls for interns etc., will then be disseminated firstly through our established social media marketing network and then again into specifically targeted audiences for your particular subject matter.

You will have all of this behind your work by simply pasting what you have already written into this blog. The following notes are to assist you in the log in process:


The first item you will receive is an invitation e-mail and it will look like this:

You will need to sign in with a Google Account to confirm the invitation and start posting to this blog. If you do not have a Google Account yet, we will show you how to get one in minutes.

The first step is to follow the link highlighted in the invitation e-mail.

The link will take you through to a page that looks like the image above (click on it to see a larger version).

If you do not have a Google account you will need to set one up. This will take a couple of minutes but will prove well worth your time. There is the option to "Create your account now" shown on the page illustrated above.

If (and when) you have a Google mail account then you just need to enter your password for your google mail account and click on accept invitation.

You will then be taken to a page which looks like the one below:

If you then click on the "New Post" button then you will arrive at a page which looks like the image below:

As you can see this page is very simple to use. You can chose a document which you have already written, copy it and then paste it into the text box, click on publish post and job done.

Alternatively, you can chose to write an article straight into the text box and then use the Publish Post button to publish.

An important point to note is that the box entitled Labels for this post should be filled in.
As an example of how to do this, you use your general heading e.g. housing or disability rights or miscarriage of justice etc., and your organisation and your author name.

Tips: Bookmark/Favourite the url for this blog so that you can go straight to it. You will need to sign in and once you have done it once, if you are using a decent browser, your username and password should then automatically be remembered. Nevertheless, it is always good practice to save your username and password somewhere safe to safeguard against the unexpected.
